The Brexit Challenge

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the UK voted to leave the European Union, with the official Brexit departure date it was scheduled for October 31, 2019 and extended again to December 31, 2020.

The United Kingdom have now officially left the European Union on the 1st January 2021.

Customs formalities will begin from 1 January 2021 when the UK leaves the EU customs union, covering  imports, exports, and goods in transit. All enterprises trading between the UK and EU need to comply with border and customs formalities.

Brexit Update December 2021

The British government’s decision to delay the introduction of new checks and procedures on goods moving from Ireland to Britain serves a number of practical, political and diplomatic purposes.

The Northern Ireland Protocol risks becoming a constant irritant in future EU/UK relations unless both sides change their approaches to resolving ongoing issues.

Expo Communications recognises the level of uncertainty surrounding Brexit and how it will impact all industry sectors across Ireland and the UK. With no official procedures, or policies yet in place for small, medium and large enterprises.
